Cookie Commons, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We built these tools to help people — not to collect their data. Here's exactly what we do and don't do, in plain English.
Do you sell my data?
No. We don't sell your data, we never have, and we never will. We're a nonprofit. We have no advertisers and no business model that depends on your information.
What do you collect?
It depends on whether the tool requires an account.
No account required: We don't collect any personal information. The only data we may receive is anonymous crash reports — things like "the app crashed on iOS 17.4 on an iPhone 12." This comes through a third-party crash reporting tool and can't be traced back to you. We use it purely to fix bugs.
Account required: We collect only what you give us directly:
- Your name and email to create your account
- Information you enter to use the tool
We collect only what the tool needs to work. We don't snoop, we don't track your behavior across the web, and we don't build a profile on you.
Who else sees my data?
Almost no one. The only exceptions:
- Infrastructure providers — the companies that run our servers, handle authentication, or process crash reports. They work for us, they're under contract, and they don't get to use your data for their own purposes.
- The law — if a court or government authority requires us to disclose something, we'd have to comply.
- A future nonprofit successor — if Cookie Commons ever transferred its assets to another charitable organization (unlikely, but possible), your data would move with the same protections.
That's it. No marketers, no data brokers, no partners getting access to your information.
How long do you keep my data?
As long as your account is active. If you want your data deleted, just email us and we'll take care of it. Anonymous crash data has no expiration since it can't be linked to anyone.
Is my data secure?
We use standard security practices — encrypted connections, hashed passwords, and access controls. No system is perfect, but we take this seriously.
What if I have a question or want my data deleted?
Email us: info@cookiecommons.org
We'll get back to you.
Will this policy change?
We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top if anything changes. For significant changes, we'll let you know in the app or by email.
